iceland in four... three... two...

we're leaving for iceland on saturday and my brain is like asfkhksagjksghjahsge right now. we're not at all packed, the house is a huge mess, and we're working to make a little extra for the trip. it's been a stressful couple of weeks, but we're really excited and just can't wait to get there.

today, we brought harper to doggie daycare for a day of spoiling. he's a total pack dog, so i know he craves the attention and chaos of a big group of dogs. it was nice to give it to him since we were going to be leaving him for a while. he came home at 6 and he's been sleeping since (it's 10 pm now)!! that big old baby of mine.

anyway, the next two days are going to be chaotic. time to get rest, get organized and get going!

ahh! iceland!!

almost a month later

it's a good thing no one reads this, because i am a sucky blogger. i'll never get e-famous this way! a quick recap because my internet is oh so spotty: i live downtown, i have two-ish jobs, i'm still looking for more, my computer battery dies in less than a minute, but i'm too poor for another. maybe i'll walk down to the coffee shop and really update. sure... that sounds good. well in this case, hold on... i'm pressing saveeee......... now.

um the coffee shop i'm at has this awesome veggie sausage egg and cheese biscuit... but apparently they don't serve it after 1130. wtf. that's more than half the reason i came down here. anyone who knows downtown cville probably knows where i'm talking about. why the hell would a coffee shop stop serving breakfast at a certain point. i mean, i get it, have a different menu, but you should ALWAYS serve breakfast. i mean, you ALWAYS serve coffee... does anyone else follow my logic here? that being said, there is a dumpling place next door which has a vegetable hot bun i might have to get.

so i'm keeping pretty busy, but still looking for another job. i have two i am pretty interested in at the moment. the first is a personal assistant position which seems fucking incredible. i would, as my facebook about me begs, be traveling on someone else's dime. i'd be working for it, but shit, it would be worth it to me. i want to fill up my passport with stamps. that's it. that's all i've ever wanted. the other job is a research assistant with hanover research council. it's basically the only job i've looked into that asks for my specific college major as one of its requirements. it also seems interesting, i assume would pay well, and has another office in DC. the option to relocate somewhere is always something i look for when i apply for a job, even if it's just to DC. you never know if you'll ever have to pick up and move for whatever reason.

anyway, i havent heard back from either of these yet. i followed up with the PA job, but she didn't call me back :( i'm trying to not get discouraged since i'm sure they are still interviewing but can't they see i'm perfect?! PERFECT!!! so because of this, i'm still looking for other jobs and working at siips and helping out with event planning. as i said, keeping pretty busy.

i think that's enough for now. oh that's right, iceland in less than two weeks! ah!!
